PEMBERDAYAAN WANITA TANI DENGAN INOVASI PENGOLAHAN PRODUK BERBAHAN BAKU JERUK SIAM BANJAR

Banjar siam oranges (Citrus reticulata) are the main commodity of South Kalimantan Province. The orange is suitable for cultivation in the tidal swamp land of South Kalimantan. The potential of the banjar orange in Barito Kuala Regency can be seen from the area of the planting of tangerines in the South Kalimantan swamp area reaching around 11,000 hectares, of which 75% are from Barito Kuala Regency. In Karang Bunga Village, the banjar orange commodity is a superior and potential village. The design of village development which is carried out as an agro-tourism area also prioritizes banjar siam oranges. Most of the banjar orange farmers sell their fruits in fresh condition. Farmers can increase family income by making processed products through women farmers. Based on this, community empowerment is carried out to farmer women by making processed innovations from the basic ingredients of siam banjos such as pudding and contemporary orange drinks. Community empowerment is expected to improve the economy and welfare of the community. Besides that, it can motivate them to become entrepreneurs and improve their household economy. Counseling methods are used by means of presentations, discussions and demonstrations to the community, especially farmers or farm women in Karang Bunga Village. Farmer women can still play an active role in increasing family income by processing advanced products. The processed products are Milk Orange Pudding and Booble Orange contemporary Orange drink. Community service activities are needed to help community development become more innovative and independent and foster entrepreneurial attitudes. In this activity an increase in knowledge and understanding from the original 15% to 100%.
